> The CCF to therms calculator converts natural gas volume in hundreds of cubic feet (CCF) into energy in therms, using your utility’s heat content (BTU per cubic foot), and also shows kWh and MMBtu.

## Inputs

- Gas used (CCF)
- Heat content (BTU/ft³) — Use the therm factor on your bill × 1,000 if given.

## Results

- Energy
- In kWh
- In MMBtu (dekatherms)

## Formula

```
therms = CCF × heat content (BTU/ft³) × 100 ÷ 100,000
```

## Explanation

Gas meters measure volume, but you pay for energy. Utilities multiply CCF by a “therm factor” printed on the bill, usually about 1.03–1.05, because pipeline gas averages about 1,037 BTU per cubic foot.

### How to use the CCF to Therms Calculator

- **Gas used**
- **Heat content** — Use the therm factor on your bill × 1,000 if given.
- Every result field is editable: type into **Energy** and **Gas used** plus every other field update to match.

Results update as you type, and every field accepts the units shown in its menu.

### How it works

CCF are converted to cubic feet, multiplied by the heat content to get BTU, and divided by 100,000 BTU per therm.

### Inputs explained

FieldWhat to enterGas usedIn CCFHeat contentIn BTU/ft³. Use the therm factor on your bill × 1,000 if given.

### What each result means

- **Energy** = [Gas used] × 100 × [Heat content] ÷ 100000
- **In kWh** = [Gas used] × 100 × [Heat content] × 0.29307107
- **In MMBtu (dekatherms)** = [Gas used] × 100 × [Heat content] ÷ 1e6

### Example values

How the main result changes when **Gas used** changes and everything else stays at the example values above:

Gas used (CCF)Energy (therms)2525.92537.538.8885051.8562.564.8137577.775100103.7

## Worked example

Inputs — Gas used: 50 CCF; Heat content: 1,037 BTU/ft³.

Results — **Energy = 51.85 therms**; In kWh = 1,519,573.5 kWh; In MMBtu (dekatherms) = 5.185 MMBtu.

## FAQ

**How many therms in 1 CCF?**
About 1.037 therms at 1,037 BTU/ft³.

**What is a therm?**
100,000 BTU, about 29.3 kWh.

**What formula does the CCF to Therms Calculator use?**
therms = CCF × heat content (BTU/ft³) × 100 ÷ 100,000.
