> The jeans size calculator finds your jeans size as waist × length (W/L), plus UK, EU and letter sizes, from your body measurements or from a pair of jeans that fits.

## Inputs

- Sizing
- I am measuring
- Waist (flat jeans: across the waistband) (in, cm)
- Inseam (in, cm)

## Results

- Waist size (W)
- Length (L)
- Leg length
- Men's EU size
- Letter size
- Women's US size

## Formula

```
Waist size = body waist (in) or 2 × flat jeans waist
Length = inseam rounded to the nearest even inch (30 short, 32 regular, 34 long)
Men EU ≈ waist + 16; women US size from the waist chart
```

## Explanation

Jeans are labelled W (waist) and L (leg length, the inseam) in inches – 32/32 means a 32 in waist and a 32 in inseam. Measuring a pair that already fits is the most reliable: lay them flat, button them and measure straight across the waistband, then double it.

### How to use the Jeans Size Calculator

- **Sizing**
- **I am measuring**
- **Waist (flat jeans: across the waistband)**
- **Inseam**

Results update as you type, and every field accepts the units shown in its menu.

### How it works

Choose whether you are measuring your body or a pair of jeans, men's or women's sizing, and enter the waist and inseam.

### Tips

- Measure over thin clothing with a soft tape held snug but not tight, and keep the tape level all the way round.
- Take each measurement twice; if you are between sizes, the larger size is usually the safer choice.
- Size charts vary by brand and country – check the maker's own chart when it is available.
- For sewing projects, pre-wash fabric before cutting and buy 10% extra for shrinkage, pattern matching and mistakes.

### Common mistakes to avoid

- Mixing inches and centimetres between the tape and the size chart.
- Forgetting seam and hem allowances when cutting fabric.
- Measuring an old, stretched garment instead of your body.

### What each result means

- **Waist size (W)** = round([Waist (flat jeans: across the waistband)]×[I am measuring]÷0.0254)
- **Length (L)** = clamp(2×round([Inseam]÷0.0254÷2), 26, 38)
- **Men's EU size** = [Waist size (W)] + 16

### Example values
