> The minute calculator counts the minutes between two clock times and converts any number of minutes into hours and minutes, decimal hours, seconds and days.

## Inputs

- Start time
- End time
- Minutes to convert

## Results

- Minutes between the times
- Time between (h min)
- Minutes converted (h min)
- Decimal hours
- Seconds
- Days

## Formula

```
Minutes between = (end − start) × 60 (adding 24 h if the end is past midnight)
Hours = floor(minutes ÷ 60); remaining minutes = minutes mod 60
```

## Explanation

Minutes are the everyday unit for timing meetings, workouts, cooking and phone calls. Converting large minute counts to hours and minutes (for example 500 minutes = 8 h 20 min) makes them easier to understand.

### How to use the Minute Calculator

- **Start time**
- **End time**
- **Minutes to convert**

Results update as you type, and every field accepts the units shown in its menu.

### How it works

Pick a start and end time to count minutes, or enter a number of minutes to convert.

### Tips

- Check whether the end date should be included – event durations usually include it, elapsed time does not.
- Months have 28–31 days, so "one month" is counted by calendar date, not as 30 days.
- Use 24-hour time or set AM/PM carefully when entering clock times.
- Time zones and daylight-saving changes are not applied unless the calculator says so.

### Common mistakes to avoid

- Counting a 30-day month when a calendar month is meant (or the reverse).
- Forgetting leap years when counting days across February.
- Mixing decimal hours (7.5 h) with clock time (7:30).

### Inputs explained

FieldWhat to enterStart timeA clock time (hours and minutes)End timeA clock time (hours and minutes)Minutes to convertA number

### What each result means

- **Minutes between the times** = mod([End time] - [Start time], 24)×60
- **Time between (h min)** = [Minutes between the times]÷60
- **Minutes converted (h min)** = [Minutes to convert]÷60
- **Decimal hours** = [Minutes to convert]÷60
- **Seconds** = [Minutes to convert]×60
- **Days** = [Minutes to convert]÷1440

## Worked example

Inputs — Start time: 09:40; End time: 13:05; Minutes to convert: 500.

Results — **Minutes between the times = 205**; Time between (h min) = 3 h 25 min; Minutes converted (h min) = 8 h 20 min; Decimal hours = 8.333; Seconds = 30,000; Days = 0.3472.
