### How to use the Income Tax Calculator Philippines

- **Employment status**
- **Monthly income (₱)**

Results update as you type, and every field accepts the units shown in its menu.

### How it works

Choose your employment status and enter your gross monthly income.

### Tips

- Tax figures here are estimates for planning – your actual tax depends on credits, deductions and local rules.
- Check the tax year and filing status before you rely on a result.
- Use gross (before-tax) figures unless a field asks for take-home pay.
- When in doubt, confirm with the tax authority's own calculator or a tax professional.

### Common mistakes to avoid

- Confusing marginal and effective tax rates.
- Adding sales tax to a price that already includes it.
- Forgetting payroll taxes (Social Security and Medicare) on wages.

### What each result means

- **Total contributions** = [SSS contribution] + [PhilHealth contribution] + [Pag-IBIG contribution]
- **Taxable income (monthly)** = max([Monthly income (₱)] - [Total contributions], 0)
- **Withholding tax (monthly)** = ptax([Taxable income (monthly)]×12, 0, 250000, 0.15, 400000, 0.20, 800000, 0.25, 2000000, 0.30, 8000000, 0.35)÷12
- **Net pay after deductions** = [Monthly income (₱)] - [Total contributions] - [Withholding tax (monthly)]
- **Total deductions** = [Total contributions] + [Withholding tax (monthly)]
