> The PPF calculator works out the maturity value of a Public Provident Fund account from your yearly deposit (₹500 to ₹1.5 lakh), the interest rate (7.1% p.a.) and the term (15 years, extendable in 5-year blocks).

## Inputs

- Yearly investment
- Interest rate (%)
- Time period (years)

## Results

- Total investment
- Maturity value
- Total interest

## Formula

```
Maturity = deposit × ((1 + r)^n − 1) ÷ r × (1 + r) (deposits at the start of each year, interest compounded yearly)
Total investment = deposit × years
```

## Explanation

PPF is fully tax-free (EEE): deposits qualify for 80C (old regime), and interest and maturity are exempt. Deposit before the 5th of the month (or in April for the year) to earn interest for that month.
