Last updated: 2026-10-25

> The TTM calculator adds up the last four quarters of revenue, earnings or any other figure to get trailing-twelve-month values, and computes TTM EPS, P/E ratio and dividend yield.

## Inputs

- Last reported quarter
- One quarter before
- Two quarters before
- Three quarters before
- Shares outstanding
- Share price
- Dividends per share in the last 12 months

## Results

- Trailing twelve months value
- TTM per share
- TTM P/E (if the figure is net income)
- TTM dividend yield
- Latest quarter growth vs a year earlier (annualized run-rate)

## Formula

```
TTM = sum of the last four quarters
TTM EPS = TTM net income ÷ shares; TTM P/E = price ÷ TTM EPS
TTM dividend yield = TTM dividends per share ÷ price
```

## Explanation

Trailing twelve months figures give the most up-to-date view of a full year's performance without waiting for the annual report, and remove seasonal effects of looking at one quarter alone.

### How to use the TTM Calculator – Trailing Twelve Months

- **Last reported quarter**
- **One quarter before**
- **Two quarters before**
- **Three quarters before**
- **Shares outstanding**
- **Share price**
- **Dividends per share in the last 12 months**

Results update as you type, and every field accepts the units shown in its menu.

### How it works

Enter the figure for each of the last four quarters (most recent first), and optionally shares, share price and dividends.

### Tips

- Use the nominal annual rate and pick the compounding frequency your bank or broker states.
- Small differences in return or fees compound into large differences over decades.
- Run the calculation with a cautious, a central and an optimistic return to see the range of outcomes.
- Past returns do not guarantee future returns – nothing here is investment advice.

### Common mistakes to avoid

- Comparing an APR with an APY or effective rate.
- Ignoring inflation, taxes and fees when judging a real return.
- Entering a percentage as a decimal (5 instead of 0.05 is correct here).

### What each result means

- **Trailing twelve months value** = [Last reported quarter] + [One quarter before] + [Two quarters before] + [Three quarters before]
- **TTM per share** = [Trailing twelve months value]÷[Shares outstanding]
- **TTM P/E (if the figure is net income)** = [Share price]÷[TTM per share]
- **TTM dividend yield** = [Dividends per share in the last 12 months]÷[Share price]×100
- **Latest quarter growth vs a year earlier (annualized run-rate)** = ([Last reported quarter]×4÷[Trailing twelve months value] - 1)×100
