> The VA disability calculator combines up to six disability ratings using "VA math" – each rating applied to the remaining efficient percentage – rounds to the nearest 10% and shows the 2026 monthly and yearly compensation, with an optional spouse add-on.

## Inputs

- Rating 1 (%)
- Rating 2 (%)
- Rating 3 (%)
- Rating 4 (%)
- Rating 5 (%)
- Rating 6 (%)
- Spouse?

## Results

- Combined value (before rounding)
- Combined disability rating
- Monthly compensation (2026)
- Yearly compensation

## Formula

```
Remaining efficiency = Π (1 − rating)
Combined value = 100 − remaining efficiency × 100, rounded to the nearest 10 (5 rounds up)
Monthly pay from the 2026 rate table (2.8% COLA from 1 December 2025)
```

## Explanation

VA ratings don't add up: 50% and 30% combine to 65%, which rounds to 70%. The bilateral factor (for conditions on both sides of the body) can add a little more and is not included here. Rates shown are for a veteran alone (spouse add-on is approximate).

- **Combined disability rating** = min(floor((round([Combined value (before rounding)]) + 5)÷10)×10, 100)
- **Yearly compensation** = [Monthly compensation (2026)]×12
