> The uncooked to cooked rice calculator converts dry rice to cooked rice – white long grain, basmati, jasmine, brown, wild, parboiled and more – by volume and by weight, and tells you how many servings you will get.

## Inputs

- Rice type
- Uncooked rice (cups, ml, g (white rice), oz (white rice))

## Results

- Cooked rice (volume)
- Cooked rice (weight)
- Uncooked weight
- Servings (¾ cup cooked each)

## Formula

```
Cooked volume = dry volume × yield (white long grain ≈ 3, brown ≈ 2.75, wild ≈ 3.5)
Cooked weight ≈ dry weight × 2.5 (white) to 2.8 (brown)
Servings = cooked volume ÷ ¾ cup
```

## Explanation

Rice absorbs water as it cooks and roughly triples in volume. A typical side serving is ¾–1 cup cooked (¼–⅓ cup dry); for a main course allow about ½ cup dry (90 g) per person.
