> The TIMI STEMI calculator estimates 30-day mortality after an ST-elevation heart attack from age, medical history, blood pressure, heart rate, Killip class, weight, anterior ST elevation and time to treatment.

## Inputs

- Age
- Diabetes, hypertension or angina
- Systolic blood pressure below 100 mmHg
- Heart rate above 100 bpm
- Killip class II–IV
- Weight below 67 kg (148 lb)
- Anterior ST elevation or left bundle branch block
- Time to treatment over 4 hours

## Results

- TIMI STEMI score
- 30-day mortality

## Formula

```
Score = sum of the points for each item
```

## Explanation

The TIMI risk score for STEMI was derived from more than 14,000 patients in the InTIME II trial. It helps triage patients and communicate prognosis at the bedside.

### How to use the TIMI Risk Score for STEMI

- **Age**
- **Diabetes, hypertension or angina**
- **Systolic blood pressure below 100 mmHg**
- **Heart rate above 100 bpm**
- **Killip class II–IV**
- **Weight below 67 kg (148 lb)**
- **Anterior ST elevation or left bundle branch block**
- **Time to treatment over 4 hours**

Results update as you type, and every field accepts the units shown in its menu.

### How it works

Each answer carries the points shown in the published score. The calculator adds them up and maps the total to the published interpretation.

### What each result means

- **TIMI STEMI score** = [Age] + [Diabetes, hypertension or angina] + [Systolic blood pressure below 100 mmHg] + [Heart rate above 100 bpm] + [Killip class II–IV] + [Weight below 67 kg (148 lb)] + [Anterior ST elevation or left bundle branch block] + [Time to treatment over 4 hours]

## Worked example

Inputs — Age: Under 65; Diabetes, hypertension or angina: No; Systolic blood pressure below 100 mmHg: No; Heart rate above 100 bpm: No; Killip class II–IV: No; Weight below 67 kg (148 lb): No; Anterior ST elevation or left bundle branch block: Yes; Time to treatment over 4 hours: No.

Results — **TIMI STEMI score = 1 / 14**; 30-day mortality = 1.6 %.

## Key terms

- **STEMI**: ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

## FAQ

**What is a high TIMI STEMI score?**
5 or more corresponds to 12% or higher 30-day mortality.

**Does it guide treatment?**
All STEMI patients need urgent reperfusion; the score helps with prognosis and level of care.

**What is Killip class?**
A bedside classification of heart failure after a heart attack.
