> The time percentage calculator expresses one time span as a percentage of another, with independent units for each – for example 45 minutes as a percentage of a 2-hour exam, or 3 days of a 30-day month.

## Inputs

- First time duration (min, ms, s, h, days, weeks, months, years)
- Second time duration (h, ms, s, min, days, weeks, months, years)

## Results

- Percentage
- Remaining time
- Remaining percentage

## Formula

```
Percentage = first duration ÷ second duration × 100
```

## Explanation

Comparing times is a percentage question in disguise: how much of a working day you spend in meetings, what share of a project has elapsed, or how far through a year you are. Because the two durations can be entered in different units, the calculator converts them before dividing.

### How to use the Time Percentage Calculator

- **First time duration**
- **Second time duration**

Results update as you type, and everything is calculated in your browser.

### How it works

Both durations are converted to seconds, divided and multiplied by 100. The remaining time and its percentage are shown as well.

### Inputs explained

FieldWhat to enterFirst time durationUnits: min, ms, s, h, days, weeks …Second time durationUnits: h, ms, s, min, days, weeks …

### What each result means

- **Percentage** = [First time duration]÷[Second time duration]×100
- **Remaining time** = [Second time duration] - [First time duration]
- **Remaining percentage** = 100 - [First time duration]÷[Second time duration]×100

### Example values

How the main result changes when **First time duration** changes and everything else stays at the example values above:

First time duration (min)Percentage (%)0.3751,1250.56251,687.50.752,2500.93752,812.51.133,3751.54,500

## Worked example

Inputs — First time duration: 0.75 min; Second time duration: 0.000555556 h.

Results — **Percentage = 2,250 %**; Remaining time = -0.7167 min; Remaining percentage = -2,150 %.

## Key terms

- **Duration**: A length of time.

**How long is a month in this calculator?**
An average Gregorian month, 30.44 days; a year is 365.2425 days.

**Can the first time be longer than the second?**
