The Witcher: Monster Slayer was Spokko and CD PROJEKT RED’s augmented-reality game for phones, released in July 2021, in which you walked your own streets as a witcher, tracked monsters whose appearance depended on the time of day and the real weather, and prepared oils, potions and bombs before each fight. The servers were switched off on 30 June 2023, so the game can no longer be played online – but players who kept their notes, and fans of similar location-based games, still ask how long a level goal takes.

Experience in the game came from monster fights, contracts, daily hunts and tasks, and the XP a monster gave grew with its level and difficulty. Because those numbers varied with your level and the monsters around you, this planner lets you enter your own averages instead of relying on fixed tables: the XP still missing to your goal, the XP an average fight gives you, how many monsters you defeat per day, the bonus from daily tasks, and any percentage boost.

The result is the number of monsters to defeat, the XP you earn per day, the number of days and the date you reach the goal – the same planning works for any game that levels up through repeated fights.

How to use the The Witcher: Monster Slayer XP Calculator

  1. XP still needed for your goal
  2. Average XP per monster
  3. Monsters defeated per day
  4. Daily task / contract bonus XP
  5. XP boost — e.g. an event or item that adds a percentage to fight XP.
  6. Start date

Results update as you type, every field has its own unit menu, and everything is calculated in your browser.

How it works

Daily XP is the fight XP (boosted by the percentage) plus the fixed daily bonus. Dividing the XP still needed by the daily XP gives the days, rounded up; the monsters needed exclude the share covered by daily bonuses.

Worked example

You need 20,000 XP, average 250 XP per monster, beat 12 monsters a day and collect 500 XP from daily tasks: 12 × 250 + 500 = 3,500 XP per day, so 20,000 ÷ 3,500 = 5.7 → 6 days. Six days of bonuses give 3,000 XP, leaving 17,000 XP from fights – 68 monsters. Without the daily tasks you would need 80 monsters.

About the game

Monster Slayer used your real location, time of day and local weather: some monsters appeared only at night or in rain, and preparing the right oil or bomb gave a big advantage. It ran from July 2021 until the shutdown on 30 June 2023.

Inputs explained

Field What to enter
XP still needed for your goal A number
Average XP per monster A number
Monsters defeated per day A number
Daily task / contract bonus XP A number
XP boost In %. e.g. an event or item that adds a percentage to fight XP.
Start date A date

What each result means

  • XP per day = [Monsters defeated per day]×[Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100) + [Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP]
  • Days to reach the goal = ceil([XP still needed for your goal]÷([Monsters defeated per day]×[Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100) + [Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP]))
  • Monsters to defeat = ceil(max(0, [XP still needed for your goal] – ceil([XP still needed for your goal]÷([Monsters defeated per day]×[Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100) + [Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP]))×[Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP])÷([Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100)))
  • Monsters needed with fights alone = ceil([XP still needed for your goal]÷([Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100)))
  • Goal reached on = [Start date] + ceil([XP still needed for your goal]÷([Monsters defeated per day]×[Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100) + [Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP]))
  • Share of XP from daily bonuses = ([Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP]÷([Monsters defeated per day]×[Average XP per monster]×(1 + [XP boost]÷100) + [Daily task ÷ contract bonus XP]))×100

Example values

How the main result changes when XP still needed for your goal changes and everything else stays at the example values above:

XP still needed for your goal Days to reach the goal (days)
10,000 3
15,000 5
20,000 6
25,000 8
30,000 9
40,000 12

Formula

XP per day = monsters per day × XP per monster × (1 + boost) + daily bonus XP · Days = XP needed ÷ XP per day · Monsters = (XP needed − days × bonus) ÷ (XP per monster × (1 + boost))

Worked example

Inputs — XP still needed for your goal: 20,000; Average XP per monster: 250; Monsters defeated per day: 12; Daily task / contract bonus XP: 500; XP boost: 0 %; Start date: 2026-10-25.
Results — XP per day = 3,500 XP; Days to reach the goal = 6 days; Monsters to defeat = 68; Monsters needed with fights alone = 80; Goal reached on = Sat, October 31, 2026; Share of XP from daily bonuses = 14.29 %.

Key terms

XP
Experience points that raise your character level.
Daily bonus
Fixed XP from daily tasks or hunts.
Boost
Percentage added to the XP from fights.
